Check your website for free, in plain English

Type in your web address and we'll check the basics that keep your site safe, findable and trusted, then explain each result in everyday words with a simple step to fix it. It's free, there's nothing to sign up for, and we don't keep your results.

Scan form

By checking a site, you confirm you own it or have permission to check it, and you agree to our Terms.

What we check

Security certificate

Whether your padlock (https) is working and browsers trust your certificate.

Security settings

The instructions your site gives browsers to help protect your visitors.

Redirects and links

Whether visitors reach the right page quickly, and whether any links on the page are broken.

Search basics

The page title, description and settings that help Google understand your site.

Accessibility basics

A page language, image descriptions and clear headings for people using screen readers.

Email protection

The records that help stop other people sending fake emails in your name.

Plus the cookies your page sets, and any tracking scripts we spot.

How it works

  1. You enter your web address.
  2. We look at your home page the same way a normal browser visit would, and check your domain's public records.
  3. You get a score and a plain-English list, with a step to fix each item.

What this scan is, and isn't

This is a quick, light-touch check of one page, up to 20 of its links to the same site, and your public domain records. It only reads what any visitor's browser can see. It doesn't try to break in, test passwords or scan your whole site. It isn't a security test, a full accessibility audit or a guarantee that your site is safe. It's a clear starting point.

Your privacy

We don't store the addresses you check or your results. They're shown to you and then gone. We count visits with cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics, and briefly use your IP address to limit how often scans can be run. See our Privacy notice.
